Swiss Chard (Spinach) grows very well in cool shady areas, so ensure you transplant your cabbage seedlings in areas of your garden which are shaded from the hot afternoon sun.  Swiss Chard is generally tolerant of a wide range of soils, but ideally you should provide rich, moist, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter.
Swiss Chard has various nutrients including protein, iron, chlorophyll, and vitamin A and can be eaten raw in salads or steamed lightly to accompany culinary dishes.
